Do I buy my own paint?
Yes. Once your project is approved you get a paint list with the exact product, color, sheen and quantity for each area, and you purchase it directly. We bring the brushes, rollers, drop cloths, masking, patching material, caulk, sandpaper and the rest of the normal supplies.
How much paint should I buy?
We work it out for you. The paint list shows a recommended purchase for each area based on the measured surface area, the number of coats and the coverage of the product you've chosen, with a small allowance so you aren't a half gallon short on the last wall.
Can you help me choose colors?
Yes, and it's a normal part of the estimate visit. If a room needs a longer conversation than that, we can do a full design consultation instead.
Do you move furniture?
We move normal light furniture to reach the walls and put it back. Anything heavy, fragile or valuable is better handled before we arrive — your proposal will say plainly which applies to your project.
Do you repair drywall?
Small repairs, yes — nail holes, dings, minor cracks and typical patching are routine. Larger damage is quoted as its own line item with a photo attached so you can see exactly what we found.
Do you paint ceilings and trim?
Yes. Ceilings, baseboards, door casing, window casing, doors, crown molding and chair rail are all priced individually, so you can include or leave out whatever you like.
How long will my project take?
It depends on the number of rooms, the surfaces involved and how much preparation is needed. Your proposal gives an expected duration for your specific project rather than a generic estimate.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes. A deposit is due when you approve the proposal, and the balance is due when the work is complete. The exact amount is shown on your proposal before you approve anything.
Do you offer exterior painting?
Not at the moment. Brown Brush is focused on interior work.
